Children's eyes grow older with their age, as does their body. It is a very fast growth for 2 years, and by the age of 8, their eyes become almost equal to adults. At such a time their retina is also mature. So if the light does not fall properly on their retina by the age of 8, the retina remains immature- a condition called amblyopia, the treatment of which is very difficult, and the chances of success are moderate.
Myopia, where the image of the object being seen is made in front of the screen, which is considered to be a lack of vision in common parlance, has spread like an epidemic in children for the last few years. For example, if a child has glasses of -2D, he will see things beyond 50 centimeters from his eyes, which will shrink his perceived world. Writing, playing, or watching something on mobile. If they do not use glasses, they will look at the TV or computer monitor very closely so that they can see things. By doing more close work, the eyes increase in size, due to which the retina goes back a lot, and the power of glass increases. The only way to break this vicious cycle is the proper treatment of myopia. The most successful solution in children is the use of glasses, so that the light falls properly on their screen and reduces all the side effects of myopia. These glasses must be of the right power, and therefore it is necessary to test the eyes of children every 6 months.
But it is important to catch this disease at the right time. Generally, children at the age of 6-7 years understand that they do not see the board clearly in school, and by then it is too late. If the young child is listening to your voice but not looking carefully at your face, if he or she is shrinking his eyes while looking, if he or she is playing with nearby toys but not with toys lying a little away, if the child is not interested in playing outside, if the teacher in the school says that the child is lost in himself, then definitely check his or her eyes.
The most important thing is to catch the child who requires glasses as early as possible. Parents hold the mobile to the small crying child, which the child looks at carefully. Seeing more than a limit increases the size of the eyes and the child gets myopia. According to the guidelines, children below 18 months of age are prohibited from using any kind of mobile except video calls. By the age of 18-24 months, children should gradually be made aware of mobile, which only uses apps for their intellectual development, and by the age of 5, children can use mobile for one hour a day to use such apps. Children can use mobile or iPad for studies if it does not interfere with their eating, sleeping, or play. Parents should send children out to play, and take them to the park or a place where there is open land and sky so that their distant eyes are also used. Proper eating, sports, exercise, and pranayama also have a good effect on the eyes. It is less likely to grow.
Let's fight this epidemic strongly.
